“Is the surfer guy alright?” I asked the paramedic as he took my temperature.

“He is in a severe state of hypothermia... but he'll make it. It was very brave what you did out there but also very stupid ! You could have lost your toes, or even drowned !” He replied, his voice grave. Suddenly I felt very sleepy and laid my head back on the medical bed. I had saved someone, but I didn't feel like a hero, I was still a freak in my world.
