So we walked out into the hallway followed by two guards. Before leaving I took one last look at Ray as the nurses shoved a tube up his throat and needles inside his arms. I could see his eyelids twitch every time they did so. Since I'd met him I'd never liked him but now I could only feel bad.

We were escorted to the reception hall. June sat next to me in her brother's arms, though I knew she was tall and quite strong in that instant I only saw a frail girl. As for Viktor, he closed his eyes but I could see he wore a constant frown on his face. So I sat there not saying anything while Abigail had left to check up on Hank, Odine and Sabetha who were to join us soon enough. The wait was unbearable. I couldn't stop wondering where was Craig and when would we be coming back home. Yes the only place I wanted to be now was back, in my dorm-house, curled up in my favorite sofa with a cup of coffee and nothing to worry about expect my math test. I couldn't believe I'd ever be able to miss something like that.
