Homecoming

A voice called my name, I opened my eyes. I had probably dozed off since nothing could be more tiring than using my abilities so many times in a day. Well at least now I knew. June was gone and Viktor stood in front of me. I sat up realizing I was taking a whole 3 seats to myself, and quickly brushed my messy hair out of my face.

Hey, wake up, you fell asleep for a long long time again! June called my mom, she's on the first plane to Anchorage, we're going to meet up with her as soon as my dad has been discharged. She is mad! I'll probably never going to be able to go out ever again!” said Vee as he sat by me. He looked better than before, maybe a little bruised but still I could see the corner of a smile.

What about Craig?” I asked looking out the hospital's transparent sliding doors.

We're going to find him. Hank and I will go and look for him as soon as he gets his mom to pay for his bill online and then we'll go, I promise. He's my brother and my best friend. This has to stop …” he added closing his eyes after each word. It made me feel uneasy as if I could have prevented some of this. From the first second I met Ray he hadn't inspired trust to me, the lines on his face told me so as if someone with so many marks and scars on the outside obviously used them to protect what was inside. I just had a feeling, a feeling that I didn't follow. I just let it string me along slowly onto this path till the argument with Viktor, the accidents and now this. His father was trouble and wasn't gonna change.
